ice cream

STEAM/Reading Month Activity at NTHS FACS classroom

Mrs. Ehley's (FACS teacher), along with her 2nd hour students, and,  Ms. Schneider, (MS/HS Librarian), learned about Native American ice cream varieties (US) and made their own batches of "Ziploc bag" homemade ice cream. They used milk, Half N Half, Pickling salt, sugar, vanilla or almond extract, and ice cubes as well as 1 large and 1 small Ziploc bag,  to make their treat.

Students topped their treat with chocolate fudge topping or caramel topping  and selected their choice of 10 types of sprinkles or combination of them.

Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Reading Month 2020 from Ms. Schneider and Mrs. Ehley.

A big thank you to Mrs. Harris for taking pictures and Mr. Drapeau, Assistant HS Principal for joining us for the event and most of all, Mrs. Ehley and her wonderful 9th and 10th grade students.

Recipes are available from Ms. Schneider in the Library, or," from Mrs.  Yolanda, HS Office Receptionist, or Mrs. Ehley in the FACS classroom!

BE SURE TO..." READ ALL ABOUT IT" yourself, either ONLINE, OR, in a Native American cookbook in the MS/HS Library at New Town Public School!
