NEW TOWN ANNUAL SCHOOL ELECTION  Two three-year positions on the New Town School Board are to be filled at the Annual School Election June 9, 2026.  Members whose three-year terms expire are Douglas Bratvold, who represents the City Area #1 and Pete Young Bird who represents the West Area.  Monday, April 6, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., is the deadline for filing for candidates who wish to have their names appear on the ballot in the June 9, 2026 school election. Candidates must be resident voters of the area designated. Those who wish to have their name appear on the ballot as candidates may pick up forms at the school business office in the High School/Middle School building. Candidates will also have to file a Statement of Interests form which is also available at the school business office.  The election will be held June 9, 2026, with the balloting for candidates limited to voters residing in the City Area #1 area of the school district and from the West Area.

They each received a coin to our book vending machine and received a new book! Mountrail County Spelling Bee Success! The Mountrail County Spelling Bee was held on Thursday, February 12 in New Town, and our students did an outstanding job! Sixth grader Marie Pangalay placed 2nd in the written competition, and fifth grader Kiel Domingo placed 2nd in the written round. Kiel also earned 2nd place in the oral competition and will represent Mountrail County at the State Spelling Bee in March. We are so proud of their hard work and determination —they truly know how to spell success!
