September 28-October 2, 2026 Orange Shirt Day: Every Child Matters On September 30, Edwin Loe Elementary will recognize Orange Shirt Day. The day began with the story of Phyllis Webstad, whose new orange shirt was taken from her on her first day at a residential school. We remember the children who were taken from their families, honor survivors, and affirm that every child matters. Our students will take part in a schoolwide activity to reflect on this meaning and show that every child belongs at Edwin Loe. Edwin Loe Elementary extends a heartfelt thank-you to Councilwoman Dr. Monica Mayer & the North Segment for her incredibly generous donation of school supplies for ALL of our students! We received boxes and boxes filled with essential supplies, including glue sticks, bottles of glue, notebooks, crayons, Clorox wipes, and an amazing 10,000 pencils—plus so much more! Dr. Mayer’s generosity and continued support of our school are truly appreciated by our students, staff, and families. Thank you for helping ensure that every Edwin Loe student has the supplies they need to learn and succeed! This week’s Feature Friday students showed outstanding Eagle behavior while modeling the SFA strategy Help and Encourage Others! Ramona D. displayed and modeled the focusing strategy for her classmates. Kayden C. kindly helped another student who dropped their belongings. Jacob S. and Quintin B. generously gave up their time on the swing so another student could have a turn. We are proud of these students for being focused, helpful, encouraging, and considerate! We must meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school till 5:00pm. See flyer schedules. What should I bring? - Bring a good attitude and beverage/snacks if you want (no energy drinks) What if I can't come to every meeting? September 7-11, 2026 YAY- ANNOUNCING: Saturday Academy- Edwin Loe Elementary. Saturday, September 19, Saturday October 17, Saturday November 21, and Saturday, December 5. 9am -12pm. Need to make up absences? Saturday academy gives students an opportunity to to complete schoolwork, receive extra support, and make up a missed day of school. Feature Friday: Keegan G. and Arial J.F. helped an adult who fell at recess, while Genesis H. and Rage J. cleaned up a cafeteria spill without being asked. Great job showing kindness and responsibility! Each earned a Book Vending Machine coin. After School Changes If your child’s after-school plans change, please contact the front office before 3:00 PM. All changes MUST go through the office—not through classroom teachers. This helps us keep track of where students need to go at the end of the day and ensures a safe, organized dismissal. Wednesdays: Please call in changes before 2:00 PM. Registration forms were sent home this past week with students identified by their homeroom teachers as needing additional academic or attendance support. Parents must pick up their students at 5:00 pm. Contact your student’s teacher for more information.
