Edwin Loe Elementary School Community Open House
With Parent Teacher Conferences
Wednesday, April 10
4:00 – 7:00 PM
We look forward to seeing you at our open house. We will include parent/teacher conferences and give you the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher. Community programs will be here to visit about support they can provide your child. Supper will be served in the cafeteria.

Dear Parents and Guardians:
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you of an event that occurred within our school district on April 9, 2024. Early in the day, a situation involving several students came to our attention. In response, we promptly notified local law enforcement, our building administrators, and district superintendents to address the matter effectively.
To ensure the safety and well-being of all our students and staff, we initiated a hard lockdown across all district buildings. This measure remained in place until we were confident that there was no further threat to our school community.
We recognize the importance of keeping our families informed and value the principle of transparency. However, it is also crucial that we respect the privacy of those involved and not compromise the ongoing police investigation. Rest assured, we are working closely with the authorities to manage the situation and will provide updates as more information becomes available and can be shared.
The safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority, and we are committed to maintaining a secure learning environment for all. Should you have any concerns or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the Mr. Marc Bluestone or Dr. Anthony Vandal.
Thank you for your understanding and support during this time.

Parents and Guardians: We know that some of you are upset about the school not sending out a message earlier to inform everyone about the lock down. Per protocol, once law enforcement is on scene, they are in charge. They asked us to not put out anything to the public until the situation was handled. We must follow the direction of law enforcement as it is everyone's intention to keep all students and staff safe. We understand the frustration of not knowing all information immediately; however, we must follow protocol.

At approximately 8:30 this morning, there was an incident in the middle school. The middle school and high school were immediately put on lock down and law enforcement from both NTPD and TAT were on scene in just a few minutes. At that time, the elementary was also put on lock down. At 8:57 am, it was determined that there was no danger to students in the buildings and at that point, both schools moved to a soft lockdown. At 10:10 am, law enforcement informed us that there was no further danger and that we could resume school as normal. Our main focus to the safety of all students and staff and we have procedures in place in times of emergencies. A huge thank you to the immediate and diligent attention from TAT and NTPD law enforcement! Thank you for understanding. Dr. Anthony Vandal and Mr. Marc Bluestone Sr. , Superintendents
